How we support Domestic Violence Survivors:
At Aarav Supported Living UK, we offer a safe and compassionate environment for survivors of domestic violence, providing tailored support to help them rebuild their lives with dignity and independence. Our approach is rooted in empathy and respect, ensuring each individual feels secure and empowered as they transition to a life free from harm.
We understand the unique challenges that survivors of domestic abuse face and work closely with local authorities and charities to offer holistic, trauma-informed care. Our services are designed to support emotional recovery, build resilience, and promote autonomy. From accessing community resources to managing daily needs and enhancing personal skills, we aim to restore confidence and stability.

LGBTQ+ Survivors:
Many LGBTQ+ survivors may face additional risks of isolation, as well as societal stigmas that can make it harder to reach out for help or be understood within traditional support systems. Our team is trained to provide empathetic, non-judgmental, and trauma-informed care that respects each individual’s identity and personal journey.
We work closely with LGBTQ+-inclusive support networks and mental health services to address these specific needs, offering support plans that not only focus on safety and recovery but also promote acceptance, empowerment, and access to community resources. At Aarav, every resident is welcomed and supported with dignity, creating an environment where LGBTQ+ survivors of domestic violence can begin to heal and rebuild their lives.
BAME Communities:
At Aarav Supported Living UK, we recognize the unique challenges that survivors of domestic violence from Black and minoritised communities often face. These individuals may encounter cultural stigmas, language barriers, and systemic discrimination, which can hinder their access to support services.

Research indicates that Black and minoritised women are disproportionately affected by domestic abuse and may experience specific forms of violence, such as ‘honour’-based abuse and forced marriage. Additionally, underreporting is more acute within minority communities, with findings suggesting that BAME women are more likely to stay in abusive relationships due to the barriers associated with leaving.
To address these issues, we provide culturally sensitive support that respects and understands diverse backgrounds. Our team collaborates with community organizations and interpreters to ensure effective communication and trust-building. By offering tailored services that acknowledge and address these specific challenges, we aim to empower survivors from all backgrounds to rebuild their lives with dignity and independence.
Ending the Cycle of Domestic Abuse:
At Aarav Supported Living UK, we are dedicated to empowering individuals with the knowledge and resources needed to recognize and avoid the patterns of abusive relationships. Our domestic abuse prevention program offers guidance on identifying the subtle and overt signs of abuse, including psychological, financial, and digital manipulation. We provide practical strategies for staying safe, both offline and online, where many forms of control and harassment can occur.
Our support extends beyond immediate safety, helping survivors build resilience and recognize unhealthy dynamics early on to prevent re-victimisation. Through workshops, one-on-one counseling, and access to online safety resources, we equip individuals with the skills and awareness to make empowered choices, ensuring they have the support needed to lead safe, independent lives.

Advocacy Support:
Advocacy support is a core part of our commitment to empowering survivors to regain control of their lives. Our team works alongside each individual to develop personalized safety plans that address their specific needs and risks, ensuring they feel secure and supported. We also liaise with a network of professionals, including GPs, social workers, and welfare benefit providers, to create a comprehensive support system.
By coordinating with these services, we help residents access essential resources, such as healthcare, financial aid, and community support, reducing barriers to their recovery. Through our advocacy, we strive to make the journey to independence and well-being as seamless and supportive as possible.
